Privacy

Privacy is a practice, not a slogan.

This page explains how UmbraVPN thinks about your information. Where the answer is not final yet, we say so instead of filling the gap with a marketing line.

We are not claiming “zero logs”, “no logs”, “100% anonymous” or “impossible to track”. Those phrases are only meaningful when a published policy defines them, and ours will be specific rather than absolute.

What your account needs

An email address to identify you, a securely hashed password if you use one, your plan, your devices, and basic records such as when the account was created and when it last signed in. Billing adds the records a payment provider requires.

What the service needs to operate

Any VPN service needs some operational data to run reliably and prevent abuse. Rather than guessing at that list today, we will publish it precisely — what is collected, why, and for how long — in the privacy policy before the applications are released.

What we do not want

We do not want a browsing profile of you. We do not ask for a real name, a phone number, an address, or any identity document to create an account. Marketing trackers are not part of how this website is built.

How your information is handled

Account data is accessed on a need-to-know basis, administrative access is logged, and your data is not sold. Where a third party is required — such as payment processing — it is named and limited to that job.

Your control

You can view and change your email, password and devices, end your sessions, set notification preferences, and request deletion of your account and its data.
